Our Commitment To Privacy

Your privacy is important to us.  To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices.   To make this notice easy to find, we have made it a 'stand-alone' page, with its own link from the bottom of every other page on this site.        

The Information We Collect:

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the monroetown.com website.  The only place on this website where personally identifiable information is requested is on the "Contact Us" page.   On this page, the type of personal information requested is:     

Name 
Email address
Phone number (optional, include it if you want us to call you) 

The Way We Use Information:

• We use the information you provide about yourself when sending us a message only to respond to your message.  
• We do not share this information with ANY outside parties.   
• We do not store this information.   
• We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.   We do not keep your e-mail address once we have replied to you. 

• We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website and understand what pages seem of greatest interest to site visitors.  For example, we may see that X number of individuals access the calendar page but no one accesses the local clubs page.   In this case, we would place greater emphasis on keeping the calendar page current, and have less concern about the local clubs page.    
• We have no way of knowing who is accessing the web site, how often, or what they are doing while they visit.  This information is only provided by Microsoft at an aggregate level (i.e., 20 different visits to the site in week X with an average of 5 page views per visit.) 

Our Commitment To Data Security:

To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Our Commitment To Children's Privacy:

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13, and no part of our website is structured to attract anyone under 13.   We do not upload content that we consider objectionable or inappropriate for anyone of any age.  Further, we very rarely post links to other sites which we know to contain objectionable content, such as YouTube.com.   If we do publish photos submitted by site users of area children, we make every effort to obtain permission from parents of children in the photos.   Further, children will at most be referred to by their first name, never their full (first + last) names.     This is true even if children have signed full disclosure releases through 4H, the Library, etc.   We don't know about you, but we don't think it's prudent to put children's first AND last names AND pictures all in one place on the internet.   

The Website Calendar

We maintain a calendar using Microsoft Office's Hotmail Calendar system, and you see a snapshot of this on the website's home page.   You may have trouble viewing details of an event unless you right click on that date and go in via that route.   This is because Microsoft has made some changes to Hotmail programming.   We are actively searching for a better calendar system; until we find one, please right click on the dates you want more info on.         

Links to Outside Websites

This site provides a large number of links to sites maintained by other people or businesses.   Please understand that once you click on a link and go to another website, we have no control over what privacy policy that particular site is using.  If you provide personal information to an outside website, we do not see it, nor do we control what they do with it.   If you've had a bad experience with a site we link to, please let us know, and we can consider removing their link.  

How You Can Access Or Correct Your Information

If you have requested a reply from us and believe you have supplied an incorrect e-mail address (maybe because you have not heard back from us!), simply recontact us with a question or correction.   In the event we have already responded to an incorrect e-mail address, we will re-submit our answer once you provide a correct address.
