| Children Cub Scouts Cub Scouting is a program for boys in Grades 1-5 that promotes citizenship, character, and service to God and country. For more info, visit our website. We also connect with an active Boy Scout Troop for boys 12 and up, and can help you with more information for older boys. The Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains serve NH & Vermont. Girls ages 5-17 are encouraged to develop their leadership potential thru activities that enable them to discover their values, skills and world around them; connect with others; and to take action to make a difference in their community and their world. For more info, call Donna Thompson, Membership Manager, 444-0038, or visit our website. Monroe also has an active Daisy group, for girls in Grades 1 & 2. For more info on the Daisies, contact Juli Ward.

McClure's Alumni Band From the 1930's until the 1960's, George McClure was a force to be reckoned with. A music and instrumental teacher for many area schools, he was the driver behind McClure's Marching Bands. George's bands won state and regional competitions, performed several times in Washington D.C., and began a strong music tradition that is still evident today in Monroe. Many of his students are still playing, with the "Alumni Band." Monroe's own Edith Ann Emery is the leader, conductor, and programmer. There is a fascinating history of McClure's Bands available at the Monroe Town Library. Mens Club Meet the 2nd Monday of each month from October - May at the Town Hall. They provide annual scholarships to 2 high school students, and sponsor many town events such the basketball tournament, Halloween night party, and a raffle. Plus, when they meet, they have snacks. For more information, call George Hall. The MelloTones Singing group that specializes in 'beautyshop' (i.e., female barbershop!) They frequently appear at town events such as McLure's Christmas Concert. If you like to sing, call Marilyn Dickinson, 638-2699. This active snowmobile club has roughly 40 members. Contact Donna Mitton for more information, 638-2639. UFO Club (Un-Finished Objects) This group of women meets periodically to work on, literally, un-finished objects! Walking Club Want to walk but not in the snow or the rain? Walkers use the Town Hall weekdays at 8 am to keep fit (and dry!) They play bluegrass, folk, and "Americana". Check out their MySpace page or stop by on a Friday night and enjoy. Free, laid back, and fun. Bone Builders Designed to improve balance and strength with both hand and leg weights, this group meets Mondays & Thursdays in the Town Hall Basement at 8:30 am, and costs just $1 per week. For men and women who'd like to stay strong. More info here. Garden Club The Monroe Garden Club meets every 4th Wednesday of the month at the Town Library (but not typically in the depths of winter!)
