New Hampshire's official state motto is "Live Free or Die."    In keeping with this sentiment, Monroe residents have a wide range of school choices available to them, including an active Home Schooling group.    Other area schools include but are not limited to:

Private Primary Schools
Good Shepherd Catholic School, serving pre-K through 8th grade, St. Johnsbury, VT
Riverside School, serving 2nd through 8th grade, Lyndonville, VT

Secondary Schools
Lyndon Institute, Lyndon Center, VT
Woodsville High School, Woodsville, NH

(Note, Monroe does not operate its own high school; the high school of choice for most residents is St. Johnsbury Academy.   Tuition is paid by the town, and transportation to/from the Academy is provided; if parents choose any other school, they must arrange transportation.  Tuition costs in excess of SJA fees must be paid by parents/families.)
