Selectmen’s Meeting
July 20, 2010

All Selectmen Present
Meeting started at 7:00P.M.

Ray Burton and Brian Schutt were in to meet with the Selectmen about the work being done on Route 135 from the Town Hall to Moore Dam. Ray Burton and Commissioner Campbell had taken a ride through the area to see what progress had been made on Tuesday afternoon. Gerry had also taken a ride with Brian Schutt a couple weeks ago to show him some problem areas. They have got the roadsides mowed and the dead elm tree down. They will be starting the ditching soon and sometime in the next month plan to start trimming trees that are hanging out over the road. They will also be doing some work on the road in Littleton near Daine’s before winter to stop the water running across the road. Brian has talked with Mr. Cate about the culvert at the end of his driveway and the state will be taking care of that also.

Bruce asked what can be done with the bamboo that is growing on the roadsides. Brian said the state can cut it but would have to leave it where they cut it. Bamboo is a very invasive plant that spreads quickly, he will check to see if the state has come up with any new plans on how to get rid of it.

Gerry stated that he understands that the roadsides cannot be mowed every year due to the cost but would like to see it done every other year. He does feel places like Carters Corner should be done each year. He also told Brian that there is a culvert in Littleton right across the line needs to be looked at. Brian said he would look at it.

Cindy asked Brian about the parade permit that was applied for a month ago, he said he would check into it.

Sgt. Robert Terhune from the NH State Police was in to meet with the Selectmen about the scheduling for the town details. He has taken over this job and thought it would be a good idea to meet the Selectmen and see if they had any concerns. The Selectmen said they were very happy with the job the State Police are doing.

Mary Jo Locke was in to see the Selectmen as the bank behind her house still seems to be sliding, she is not sure how to handle this, the Selectmen agreed to go and look at it at 7:00P.M. next Tuesday night weather permitting.

The Selectmen signed the manifests, signed a letter authorizing the Trustees to pay George E. Sansoucy, PE $743.75 from the Assessing Fund, they approved an Intent to Excavate and a contract for use of equipment.

Meeting Adjourned at 9:30P.M.
Respectfully Submitted; Cindy Frazer, Admin. Asst.
